Subscription can be considered as billing unit that aggregates all costs of underlying resources.

It Contain resource group and their associated resources.
Scoping level for governance and security
You can create multiple subscription
User can have access to one or more subscriptions with different roles
Subscription can be used to organize recourses into completely distinct accounts.
Resource consumed by subscription will be charged to owner. If subscription will not be paid all resource within subscription will be stopped.
Subscription can be only associated with a single org (Azure AD tenant) at a time. {Switch AD Tenant Option}

Key Facts about Subscriptions

Two subscriptions can't be merged into signal subscription
Subscription can have multiple administrator, however there can be only one account administrator.
You need to be admin of billing account to be able to transfer the subscription.
You can remove spending limit , but you can't increase or decrease the limits. You either have no limit , or you have limit equal to amount of credit

Resource Group provide logical grouping of related resources based on project, cost center etc.

Resource group can be only alpha-numeric
While creating recourse group, you need to select region.
Resource from multiple regions can be part of resource group.
Resource group are not the resource
When we delete resource group, all resource inside group will be deleted.

When you create a resource group, you need to specify its location. You might wonder, "Why does a resource group need a location? And if resources can be in different locations than the resource group, why does the resource group's location matter?

The resource group holds metadata about the resources. So, when you set a location for the resource group, you're determining where that metadata is stored. For compliance reasons, you might need to ensure that your data is stored in a specific region.

If the resource group's region is temporarily unavailable, you won't be able to update resources in that group because the metadata will be inaccessible. However, resources in other regions will continue to function as expected, but you won't be able to update them.
